An all-volunteer, non-profit organization to the restoration,
display and operation of former military aircraft.

ANNOUNCING
THIS YEARS
COMMUNITY
LEADER AWARD

The Historical Aircraft Squadron has announced the recipient of this year’s Community Leader Award goes to Stan Robinson and Interphase Video for their efforts to promote the community and especially for their support of The Historical Aircraft Squadron’s many activities. We are so thankful for their support year after year. Our efforts to create a living museum for vintage military aircraft and military equipment need this community support. In turn we hope to continue to be a strong part of the community. Stan Robinson, right and Inerphase Video president and owner are presented the award by
Kathy Ridgeway and Bob DeLay.

We Need Your Help
Finances are over $12,000 in the red and we are forced to raise the dues to $40 per year and offer no associate membership this year.

MEETING TIMES
Membership meetings will be held on the 2nd Saturday at 2:00 pm at the hangar. Open Board meetings are to follow the membership meetings or will be scheduled as circumstances require them for actions.

 PRESIDENT'S CORNER... from Jim Ridgway

Here we are coming to the end of another year. The holidays are fast approaching. Our Christmas party will be December 10th at 7:00 PM at our hangar this year. Everyone is to bring a dish with food in it, not just a dish. We will be providing the meat.
This will be a joint function with the pilots association this year. Seeing how we both have most of the same people.
We have two board positions that are or will be vacant at the end of this year. Ballots will be sent with the newsletter and we will need them returned by the 20th of November. We encourage everyone to vote. We are trying to honor those men and women who fought to give us this right and unfortunately we take it for granted to often. So I am encouraging everyone who receives a ballot to vote and return it to us.
We are changing the dues to $40.00 a year instead of the two-tier system we had.
We have HAS shirts available at the hangar for those of you who might want to purchase one. We need ideas for fund raising projects. The group has had a red ink year so far. We cannot keep doing this. We will probably revamp our PX system and try and do more air shows next year, but we need people to actively participate. We will have further information in the future on this.
Hope everyone has enjoyable holidays and we would like to see you at the hangar or at the Christmas party.

HELLCAT AND PILOT LOST IN TEXAS

We got the news last month that the pilot and F6F Hellcat were lost in an accident on the way to an airshow in Texas. This is the same plane and pilot who were in our airshow in August. The plane was from the museum in Chino, California. We regret to inform you of this unfortunate crash. He was experiencing engine trouble and was trying to find a clearing on the interstate highway when he hit a power line and went down in flames.

Two cats side by side- left the F6F Hellcat and right the F4F Wildcat at our Wings of Victory airshow. These birds were two of the most famous of WWII.
