Wings of Victory 2005

Our annual air show nears once again. It is shaping up to be another great show. Mark your calendar for August 20 and 21. Sign up for volunteer duties now. Many warbirds are on schedule to be here. Some of the airplanes tentatively scheduled for appearance are: P-38 Lightning, SNJ-5 and 3, AT-6’s, Bamboo bomber, B-25 Mitchell bomber, F4U Corsair, YAK-52, T-28 Trojan, Stearmans, BT-13, L-16’s, Navion, Pitts and more. Over 30 vintage aircraft will be there. Other things going on are Mott’s Military Museum display, 101st Airbourne reinactment team, National Guard display with Rock climbing wall, and more to be announced. Once again the air show is located at the Fairfield County Airport located on route 33 just north of Lancaster, Ohio.

 PRESIDENT'S CORNER... from Jim Ridgway

Airshow is fast approaching. It will be August 20th before we know it. Still have lots of loose items to finish. Looking forward to seeing those people we don't get to see but once a year. We all have very busy lives.

We have scheduled a P-38, B-25, F4- U Corsair, a couple of YAK 52's, one doing an aerobatic routine. Brett Hunter will be back with his Pitts, which does a good show. The T-6's/ SNJ's will be here also and an assortment of L-birds.

Having military flybys is not looking good because so many have commitments to the war. Our web site has a listing of what is coming with additional information.

The C-45 project is still underway with slow progress. A couple of the Wednesday crew has taken up working on it also and we appreciate from Jim Ridgway that. Would like to see it looking more like an airplane by airshow time. The ambulance is running and able to be driven. We are looking at prepping it for a paint job.

If you have seen it you know we have a big job ahead of us. We are also planning on painting the Stuart Tank. Paint has been ordered for both projects. We have more work than people. If you can donate some time we have work you can do no matter what your skill level may be.

We still have items in the open "T" hangar we need to get moved before they tear it down.

Wish everyone a safe productive summer and hope to see you at the airshow.
